Disk Erase
POLICY: PCRR removes and destroys the digital data on each hard drive that comes through our door. PCRR has written digital data destruction software to be able to provide auditable reports for our client’s records. The VAIRIFi software meets the NIST 800-88 standards by a single pass wipe process. The VAIRIFi system using the Secure Erase code on hard drives that have that code for digital data destruction, otherwise VAIRIFi uses a wipe process. The NIST document requires “Verification of the process should be conducted by personnel without a stake in any part of the process”. The VAIRIFi machine is one of the only software that allows this verification and PCRR invites our client’s internal auditors to act in the above role.

- We also offer “Full Reporting” for $10.00. If you would like confirmation of the date and time when your hard drive is wiped, we will send you a report for a $10.00 fee. Payment is due when the equipment is dropped off.
Remember that your hard drive will be wiped whether or not you request full reporting.
